Marcy is another example of why we hate puppy mills and backyard breeders. When the backyard breeder was "done" with Marcy, he brought her to a high kill shelter (along with her son Marty) to have her put to sleep. Thankfully the shelter director had more sense than that so she contacted a rescue group and now Marcy is being fostered, getting lots of love for the first time. Marcy is a gorgeous girly-girl purebred Maltese who is about 5 - 6 yrs old, weighs 7 lbs and she is catching on really well how to be a pampered dog!!! She loves to be held and loved on, but she's still a little nervous when her foster mom tries to pick her up, hankering down to the floor a little. Once the foster picks her up, Marcy loves to be held, brushed and fawned over - - she just needs a little more time to truly believe she is worthy of it. She is getting better every day and she will come to her, tail wagging and love in her soft "doe" eyes!! She is good with other dogs and the resident cat, and she also was fine with visiting children, though she has not lived with any.
