Marilyn's Story...
My name is Marilyn and I am petite Golden Retriever mix. I have had it rough up until now but things are looking up for me. I was left for dead with my puppies and taken to a shelter. Luckily my puppies were adopted but I was pretty sick with heart worms. The nice people with AGK got me the medicine to get rid of them. YAY. My ideal home is with calm, older dogs and no cats. As you can see I love people and I like lots of attention. Everyone says I look like a little bear cub too. So please ask for me Marilyn.
If interested adopting in Marilyn, please visit our website at .http://www.adoptagoldenknoxville.org/new_england.html. If all that looks good, please move forward and fill out an application on our Adopt A Golden page.

NOTE: Adopt A Golden Knoxville rescue doesn't have an actual shelter building in your area. These dogs are fostered in private homes in East Tennessee. Therefore, it is not possible to meet the dogs and pups prior to their adoption. They are brought up north on a USDA transport

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Marilyn, a Roanoke Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in Roanoke, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Roanoke.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Roanoke already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Roanoke breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Roanoke paves the way for another one to be saved.
