RUSTY's Story...
Rusty is a 5 year old male Chocolate Lab mix who weighs a solid 50 lbs. He has been through training school and knows basic commands such as sit, lay down, shake, etc. He is treat-motivated, and therefore trains for new tricks with relative ease. He is house-trained, but not crate-trained, but has never had a problem with him chewing anything but his toys. Rusty has a very sweet disposition, loves snuggling and playing fetch, swimming at a local pond and going for car rides. Rusty is a great companion and due to changes in the family, is losing his loving home. But it cannot be avoided. He has an infectious smile that wins friends quickly and it won’t take him long to settle in again and become a new part of your family. ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. Why Adoption is a Great Option

RUSTY, a Salem Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Salem, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
