My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What a gentle soul. Penny has grown up in rescue. She was in a high kill S. California shelter when she was still very young, and when her time was up, Songdog pulled her. She came into rescue in the summer of 2013, where we realized she wasn't a German Shepherd. In fact, we aren't quite sure what she is besides stinking cute!

While she's timid at first, she warms up really quickly and loves food. She will take patience and positive reinforcement, but learns fast and is very attentive to whatever people are present. She is spayed and up to date on her vaccines, and tolerated her bath and nail trim with limited protest besides a little bit of low-grade flailing.

She will make a great running partner or dog sport (Flylball, Agility) dog, as she's compact in build and FAST. However, she doesn't have that ridiculous high energy that are found in many other dogs appropriate for these tasks, which is good news for YOU. She has been introduced to dogs of all sizes as well as children over the age of six, and seems to do really well with them though they will need to be gentle and patient to bond with her.

She loves to CHASE the ball, through bringing it back is a little bit of a joke, it will be easy to learn... Her recall will also take work as well as learning some basic manners around doors (they are not for running out of). She loves to play and can amuse herself with toys without a person around. She also crates very well, sleeping when you put her in a crate all the way through the night.

She has been introduced to cats, and could probably go to a home where cats were calm and knew how to behave around dogs.
