CHEWY (R)'s Story...
Chewy is so darned cute, and looks like a little stuffed animal! Look at that face! He is in great condition, his fur coat is beautiful. He's smart too and sits when asked. Chewy was turned into the shelter on 11/16/13. His ID is 561880, he is in cage 902 in the Puppy Room, is 4 years old, and weighs 20 lbs. He is up to date on shots, neutered, microchipped, and will be heartworm tested. We are listing him as not good with small children due to the reason the owner said he is food aggressive. This is definitely something that can be worked on and usually overcome with kindness and practice.

When calling the shelter about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER, the names are oftentimes made up by volunteers. Why Adoption is a Great Option

CHEWY (R), a Marietta Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
