Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Humperdink “Humper” is a 6-7 year old male Aussie X. He was advocated to us by shelter personnel who said he was a BC/Aussie mix. Oh Lordy, what a surprise when we saw him. The first thing he did was jump up and gave the volunteer a big slobbering kiss, and then fell to the ground for a belly rub. We don’t think he has a drop of BC in him. Our best guess is that he is Aussie mixed with Boxer. Nonetheless, Humper is no less deserving of a good home than any of the BCs in our program. Humper is his real name, and one has to wonder why anyone would give such a sweet natured dog a name like this. Humper was an owner surrender to the shelter because he killed some chickens. Even his owner made a statement on his shelter evaluation form that “Humper is a good dog, he just made a mistake.” Because of this, we are not recommending a home with small animals. Humper is a nice looking dog as he is brindled and white with one blue eye.
Humper has all of the wonderful traits one looks for an in all around family dog. He is lower on the energy side and just wants to hang around with people. His temperament is very even keel and affectionate. He attended his first adoption event last weekend and what a trooper. Nothing bothered him and there sure was a lot of stimulus. Kids were hanging on him and he could care less. Mostly he wanted to give licks and have his belly rubbed. Humper will crate right up, but is a little strong on the leash. He appears to know basic obedience. He is socialized with other dogs and gets along with them. Won’t you give this good ‘ole boy the home he deserves?
If you are interested in meeting our dogs, please go on line and fill out an adoption application. We require a pre-approved application to be on file before any meet and greets are scheduled. The electronic application can be found on our website at www.bordercolliesinneed.org/border_collie_rescue_and_adoptions/adoption_application.html
