Zip's Story...
Zip was recently returned to BHRG because his family just did not have time for him. Zip is a tri-colored boy (mostly red & white with a tad of black) around 4 years old. He is super sweet and loves human affection. He isn't very vocal for a basset, but does occasionally like to talk (which is more grunting than anything). He gets along well with other dogs and likes to play from time to time. He doesn't have that puppy craziness anymore and really is a well-mannered hound. Please consider giving this sweet, gorgeous, young hound a forever home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Zip, a Marietta Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
