Facts about Sadie

  • Breed: Husky Mix
  • Color: Gray/Silver/Salt & Pepper - With White
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Female
Sadie is a very special girl with very special needs. She was feral and rescued from a green-belt where many other stray dogs roam. She is very sweet, very shy and needs a special home that understands dogs like her. She does not do well around strangers but warms up to a point after working with her. Sadie needs to be in a quiet, unchanging environment, that is secure. She gets along with other dogs great and loves toys. Sadie may never be that simple dog that you take for walks or to the dog park but she has lots of love to give once she bonds with her person. She is funny, calm and just wants a place to keep her safe - she has kind of what humans know as autism thing going on. There is a special process for those interested in meeting and/or adopting Sadie so please email us for more information.

About Heart of Texas SPCA

About Our Shelter...

Our History:
Our shelter was established in May of 2000 as a No-kill, 501 (c) (3) non-profit shelter. At that time animals were fostered and adopted out by word of mouth. In November 2001 adoptions were done out of a donated space at a local veterinary clinic, staffed completely by volunteers. We outgrew that space quickly and moved into our own location in 2002. We are now located on IH-10 West in Fair Oaks Ranch, near Boerne, housing only dogs. We have made great improvements threw the years and hope to increase the number of animals rescued, increase adoptions, fundraising events, and reach more of the community. We provide a temporary shelter, rehabilitation and care to homeless and unwanted dogs until responsible, loving homes can be found. As a no-kill shelter, we want to help reduce the number of animals euthanized each year by educating the public on the importance of proper pet care, animal behavior and overpopulation prevention.
"Saving lives others have toss away".
