Well hi there! My name is Buddy and I am an adorable lab/border collie cross. I was born around May of 2011. I weigh about 60lbs and stand 2 feet high at the shoulders. Really I am the perfect size to run and play, but don’t you worry, I have found my own way to be a lap dog too!
When I first came to New Hope, it took me a while to learn that people are kind and loving, but I am quickly learning to trust people and once I get to know you all I want are pets, love, and BELLY RUBS! Belly rubs are my favourite! I am super loyal to my people and would love to just hang out with them all the time! But if you need to go to work, I am happy in my crate too. I sleep in my crate at bedtime right now too, but hey, if you wanted to share your bed with me I sure wouldn’t complain!
I would do best in a home with the taller humans who understand dogs, as the little humans can move very quickly and startle me. I’d fit best in a home that has previous experience with dogs. I am very respectful of the cats in the house (truth be told I am a little scared of them!) and love playing hard with all my dog friends we have over. Play dates are awesome! So if you have a furry friend at home for me I’d be cool with that, or else could you invite some friends over for me to play with sometimes? Pretty please!
I LOVE my walks! I get all excited and dance around while you get suited up to take me out...it is pretty darn cute, you should see it! My foster family also calls me “Wiggle Bumâ€%9D when I greet them upon their return home, I’ll bet you can guess why. My foster mom says I am a star at obedience class and that I learn really quickly. I’d love for you to keep working with me and help me get more comfortable in new situations. If you are patient with me, I promise I won’t disappoint you!
