My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tanne is about 18 months of age. She is a longer coated tan and black shepherd. Tanne loves to be loved! This girl has come so far since she came into rescue. She completed her heartworm treatment in August 2007 and now has a clean bill of health! Tanne gets along well with other dogs, but has not yet been tested with cats.

In June, GSRCA got a call about two dogs (Gingi and Tanne) that were found at a common dog dump site in a rural area. They were tired, weak and malnourished so they gratefully accepted the help given to them. Special thanks go to Tiffany and Sherrie for being kind enough to stop and pick up these stragglers and give them temporary safe harbor. When found she was covered with large ticks. The vet said she had never seen so many ticks on any dog before! Ticks were imbedded deep into the ear canals causing ear infections and severe pain. The third picture on Tanne's page is what she looked like before getting to the vet. She also tested low positive for heartworm disease. After getting some weight on Tanne, she went in for spay and heartworm treatment.
