My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Check out ALL of our listings at this link!!
When Penny's last day arrived at the shelter and she was brought in to the vet's office to be euthanized, her gentle temperament and soulful eyes stopped the vet in his tracks. He just couldn't bring himself to put down such a special girl. Instead, he decided that a little girl this sweet deserved a second chance, so he spared her, spayed her and made the promise that this would be the first day of the rest of her life . . . and we have all been so grateful ever since!! They had actually been calling her Pixie until her new foster mom took a closer look at the collar she was wearing and it had "Penny" written faintly, giving clues to her past that she must have been someone's dog at one time. Was she simply left behind when the family moved, as is so often the case? Or was she turned out by someone who fell on hard times? All we'll ever know is that she has plenty of love to go around!! She has made friends with the resident dogs at her foster home and flips right onto her back when the visiting children come by to say hello (who doesn't love a tummy rub?!) She loves to run around in the yard with one of the smaller dogs, but she's still a little uncertain of the leash which we know will get better with patience and practice. She loves baths, loves to be brushed, and is the quietest foster the family has ever had -- no barks at all!! At just about 18 pounds, she's lap sized . . . which is just how she likes it. She's about a year or two old, we are not certain of her mix, but she is healthy, happy and you'll wish there were more of her. If you can fill the rest of Penny's life with love to spare, please visit www.pinkshelter.com for more information about the adoption process or click here for our online application. Full vetting AND spay included in her $350 adoption fee. Penny is in Arkansas and transport fee is additional $140. IF YOU HAVE AOL or YAHOO PLEASE CHECK YOUR SPAM FILE FOR OUR RESPONSE.
