Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sweet Sookie is an 11-month-old female of unknown genetic origin. She’s a mystery, our girl. Based on her coloring, maybe Dutch shepherd? A little Plott hound, possibly? One thing we know for sure: she is all heart.
A long and lanky 55 pounds with a medium energy level, this brindle-coated darling, who is up-to-date on all her vaccines, is as friendly and lovable as can be. She has no aggressive tendencies at all and is at ease with dogs, cats, and kids. However, because no one has taken the time to teach Sookie the ropes of good canine citizenship, she has a tendency to jump up. She also likes to use her nose to open doors and undo latches, and she is quite adept at escaping her crate. So, homes with older kids who won’t be knocked over and won’t be her partners in crime are probably best.
Sookie’s foster mom is working diligently to teach her “sit,” “stay,” and the benefits of keeping “all four on the floor.” However, Sookie is completely house trained, and she an absolute dream at walking on her leash, so we know she is a quick and eager student.
Sookie would love nothing more than being your constant companion inside or out: she would be equally enamored with hitting the trail or the sidewalk as she would with being the lucky recipient of a nice long head-scratch.
Can you teach Sookie everything she needs to know to be happy and healthy—and then reap the rewards of her unending love and affection? Her adoption fee is $450. Send an email to Kim at love.myrescues71@gmail.com to request an application if you are ready to show Sookie what it means to have a home of her very own.
