My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jasper was surrendered from a private home due to an unexpected illness in his family which meant the family was unable to care for Jasper properly and wanted the best for him. He is a puppy at just 5 months old and is well on his way to being a happy, well adjusted, family pet.

Here is what his foster family had to say:

Jasper is a very loveable pup and he gives back 100 percent of your affections. He is very happy and loves everyone and is currently living with an 8 year old and he loves him. He is an energetic pup but gentle. He is going to be a big boy but light. He is quite smart and picks things up quickly. We are continuing to work on his basic commands and socialization. We have been out in the neighbourhood walking him and he already has a fan base! He is currently living with two cats as well and has no problem with them. Jasper looks healthy and adorable.

He is a puppy, so he does pick up the odd thing to chew, but he is not destructive, he does counter surf we are doing better at correcting that and he LOVES food and TREATS so he will beg or try to take what you have, but he never succeeds. We have been working on come , sit, down, and gentle also "no" and he is doing quite well. We sit at every corner with a small prompt when out walking, also if you have a treat and you ask him to sit he will. He does well on leash only pulls when he is about to go to the bathroom. He does not try to escape yard but will try to follow us out front door as he loves walks.

He sleeps in a crate, and goes in crate when we go out. He goes to the bathroom outside in yard or on walks..We did leave him out of crate one night to sleep on his blanket in the living room with us and there were no accidents, but we are going to keep using crate because his forever home might think that is an added bonus. We have Jasper on a schedule and he does very well with that. If I am not going to be gone too long I leave him out of crate with his comforter and toys and he has been fine. He does not get full run of house when I am not home, I give him just living room, or living room, dining room, but he hasn't gotten into any trouble. We have left him alone with the cats and there have been no problems.

Jasper appears to be very low shedding if at all but I can't say for sure that he doesn't shed as he is still a puppy.

Jasper being still so young needs training and learning but any family would enjoy spending time with him as he is so enjoyable to be around. Everyone who has met him falls in love with him. He is soft and cuddly and a pleasure to be around.

If you would like to make Jasper part of your family, please submit an application for consideration.
