Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Basil: Male, Smoke Egyptian Mau Mix kitten; Born August 2007
Basil is a beautiful example of a Smoke Egyptian Mau. We will get better pictures that shows he is actually smoke and not black and does have the Egyptian Mau spots. He also has the most amazing gooseberry green eyes which is the breed standard. You must really see this kitten in person to appreciate his beauty. Our vet who is also a retired breeder of show cats and another active breeder of Egyptian Maus have both commented on how stunning this kitty is. If we didn't already know that Basil is a mix, he could pass for a purebred Smoke Mau both in looks and personality.
Basil a very active and playful kitten so he must be adopted with another high energy kitten. Basil is bonded to his siblings and we would like him to find a home with one of them (Changa or Chako). In addition to playing, Basil is over the top affectionate. He needs lots of snuggle time on laps and will need to be able to sleep with his people. Egyptian Maus are fascinated by water and Basil is no exception. You will often find him splashing around in sinks and bowls. Basil is also very expressive with his chirps, chortles, and trills. It is a very soft, sweet, and almost musical sound. Anyone who meets Basil will charmed by him.
