Gus's Story...
Have you met Gus, our 1 year old bird dog with the golden personality and sweet disposition? This guy won us over from the day our volunteers spotted him at the Chicago Animal Care and Control Center. Now he's ready for a new life in a home like yours!

Gus is currently residing in a loving foster home where his foster parents describe him as "spunky" and "full of life." He's that great mix of cuddly and energetic that would make him a wonderful first dog or a great addition to a growing family! He seems to enjoy the company of other dogs. And so far, he's proven to be potty trained too! WHAT A CATCH!

Are you interested in making a match with Gus? Check out our adoption page for more information!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gus, a Chicago Pit Bull Terrier/Chesapeake Bay Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pit Bull Terrier/Chesapeake Bay Retriever for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Pit Bull Terrier/Chesapeake Bay Retriever dog from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pit Bull Terrier/Chesapeake Bay Retriever breeders who help with Pit Bull Terrier/Chesapeake Bay Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
