Maybelline's Story...
SAFE Class XVI is now in session. Seven shelter dogs are having the times of their lives, learning, playing, and receiving lots of TLC at WKCC (Western KY Correctional Complex). They will be crate trained, housetrained, able to walk on a loose leash, able to respond to commands, and they will learn some tricks to entertain and amaze. The dogs are spayed/neutered, on flea/; tick and heartworm preventative, up to date on all vaccinations, and fully vetted. The adoption fee is $150.00 and you may request an application at safehavenky@gmail.com. The deadline for completing an application is December 30. Graduation will be held on January 10, 2014.
Maybelline's handler is quite a poet! Here goes:
My name is Maybelline,
My coat is pristine.
I am a 20 pound Dachshund/Lab mix,
And I love to give friendly licks.
Even though I'm just ten months old,
I'm usually good and do what I'm told.
I am solid black; soft as can be,
I like to play and run with glee.
I'm good with kids, other dogs, too,
Come take me home to live with you!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maybelline, a Princeton Dachshund/Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Labrador Retriever for sale in Princeton, or seeking a Dachshund/Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Princeton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Princeton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Princeton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Dachshund/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Princeton paves the way for another one to be saved.
