Helen is totally awesome in so many ways! Don't let her being a senior sway you from adoption! Or that she's blind. Or that she's FIV positive. Or that she's toothless. We still think she's perfect. She came to us as an emaciated sick kitty. It tooks months of TLC but she is well and ready for adoption! Why adopt a senior when you don't know how long they will be with you? Because seniors are awesome. Helen is about 16 years old and was a farm cat that entire time. Who knows how many kittens she had in her life. She went blind and was unable to find the food anymore and was slowly starving. How could we say no? We nursed her back to health. When she was healthy enough for surgery she was spayed, vaccinated, and ended up having all of her messed up teeth taken out. She LOVES people and loves other cats. She wants nothing more than to snuggle in bed with her humans for the rest of her days. When sick kittens come in she takes them and snuggles them and grooms them. She was an awesome mom in her day. She would need to start out in a smaller space to being with until she learned the lay of the land. Steps help her to get on and off of beds. Other than that, she doesn't require anything special. Just snuggles and love.
If you are interested in adopting one of our wonderful cats or kittens, you can apply on our website: http://www.commcat.org . Please allow several days for us to process your application. We are a small, all-volunteer group and we are doing our best to work quickly! After the application is processed we will make arrangements for you to meet the cats that interest you. All of our cats and kittens are raised in our homes and live with us until they are adopted. They live with us as part of our families so we know them very well and we can help you find your perfect cat! Cats are rarely caged (only if its medically necessary) so you can visit with them and see how they act in a home. Our adoption fees are $50 for adult cats, $85 for kittens under one year, and double the love with two adult cats for $85. All cats are spayed or neutered, dewormed, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, tested for FIV and FeLV (feline leukemia), and microchipped.
