Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Capone is a handsome, affectionate, playful, active and energetic, two-year-old, 65-pound, brindle and white, male American Bulldog/German Shepherd-mix looking for a loving guardian. Capone has such great ears that his nickname is Bat Dog. The poor guy got off to a very rough start to his life; he and his littermates almost succumbed to Parvo. The vet chose to treat the sick puppies with the antibiotic Baytril which helped Capone fight infection, but damaged his hips. So, by the age of 18 months, he had surgery on both hips. You’d hardly know it now because he’s still a happy, playful guy who gets the zoomies … runs, jumps and plays!
Capone is living in a foster home where he is perfecting his housebreaking. He’s 90% there! He already knows the commands sit and down and walks nicely on leash. He’s also great in the car. He is a very loyal and loving dog who is looking for an experienced dog-lover who can deal with a fearful and protective dog. Capone does best with someone who will work with him and give him structure.
Capone can be a bit dog selective. So, he’d be great as the only dog in your world, or he could live with another dog, but it’s got to be the right dog. He is currently sharing his foster home with two Rottweilers with whom he gets along. He has not been cat-tested. To meet and possibly adopt Capone, please contact the K94Keeps Rescue at info@k94keeps.org or 312-221-9285. Capone is now healthy, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, heartworm-tested and on monthly preventative. His adoption fee of $250 includes professional training sessions, and benefits the rescued dogs of K9 4 Keeps Rescue.
