My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Petite and Precious

My name is Violet and I'™m a 1 year old black Great Dane. I was surrendered to Forever Friends Great Dane Rescue after Animal Control took me, my sister and brother from a neglect situation. I was so scared when I got to my foster home! I had never been on a leash and did not know how to be a puppy at all! My foster siblings have taught me a lot in a short amount of time!

I love to cuddle with my humans but if they are busy, I will curl up next to my foster brothers. I love those guys! They have shown me how to play with toys and chew on bones! I never had any of that stuff so I had no idea what to do with it! I love my bones now and have a love-hate relationship with stuffed toys. I love to throw them all around and chase them but then I like to try to swallow them too! I guess this isn'€™t what I'€™m supposed to do, so I'€™m still learning.

My foster home has worked with me a lot and I love them for it. They have shown me I can hold my head up on walks and be confident in the doggie I am! They are working on basic commands of sit, stay and down with me. I know what '€œno'%9D means! .I hear it quite a bit because of all my puppy behaviors! Even though I'€™m one, I act like an 8 month old puppy because I never had a chance to be a crazy puppy! I must live with another four-legged friend. I'€™ve learned so much from them and they help me a lot. I 'look'€%9D to them for guidance all the time (and I chew on them too!!). Sudden movements and loud noises still scare me, so I would do best in a home with older two-legged children.

I will need someone who understands my shyness but wants to help me work through it. I will need continued basic obedience but also socialization work. I missed out on 10 months of fun, puppy times! Will you help me make up for it now? If you to adopt me, please fill out an application at www.foreverfriendsgdri.com

Let'€™s cuddle,
Violet

PS: You can fill out an application for my brother too! He is Atticus!
