My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Love is on my mind!

My name is Atticus and I€'m a one year old black Great Dane. I was surrendered to Forever Friends Great Dane Rescue from animal control. My owner was neglecting me and my two sisters so they took us away. It'€™s been a rough ride but I've made big improvements!

When I got to my foster home, I had to be carried in the house and to my crate. I was so scared! I had never even had a leash or collar on. I didn'€™t know how to play with dogs or toys and I didn'€™t want to...I just wanted to stay in my crate. After a few days, I realized my foster home was a pretty neat place and I started to explore. I found four legged friends and humans that love me and want me to be around them! I love to play with my foster brothers and sisters but I never had proper socialization so I'€™m constantly in their face! Sometimes they don'€™t like that! Socialization is going to be something I will always need and want in my forever home! I absolutely love my humans and want to be around them all the time. Wouldn'€™t you want to stay around someone that showed you love, food and a great home?? I live with little furry cats and I'€™m very interested in them! I really want them to play with me but for some reason, they don't want to!

Because I never got the chance to be a puppy, I act like one now! My foster momma says I'€™m a 6 to 8 month old puppy...just bigger! She is working on my training now that I'€™m not as timid as I was. I'm very confident in my house but once I'm out and about, I'€™m a little nervous. A good training class is a must for me, I need to learn life is ok now!

I need a home that has patience and time. I will require training...just the same as a new puppy. I'€™m still learning not to mouth people, not to chew on slippers and how to settle when it is time to rest. I'€™ve made so much progress but I know I still have some work to do to be the best dog in the world!

If you have time to teach me new things and the patience to work with a puppy, please fill out an application for me at www.foreverfriendsgdri.com I would love to join your family and continue to experience love!

Slobbery kisses,
Atticus

PS...You can fill out an application for my sister too...She is Violet
