Velvet's Story...
Velvet has been a FOR kitten since before she opened her eyes! Her best friends have always been people (and her siblings, of course). She's now 2 pounds and ready for adoption. Velvet was cared for by a FOR kitten nurse and was bottle fed from two weeks of age. She's now in a foster home with kids, other cats, and her sister Whoopsy. She's a very special girl who survived in spite of tragic circumstances. We adore her and you will too. She's fostered in Huntsville, AL. If you'd like to meet her, please complete our application at www.FORrescue.net (click on resources), and email info@FORrescue.net to make an appointment. Thank you!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Velvet, a Huntsville Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Huntsville, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Huntsville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Huntsville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Huntsville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Huntsville paves the way for another one to be saved.
