Derby Pending's Story...
Everybody loves a story so here's Derby's. He's a true Ellensburg Border Collie, that was acquired by a couple in Yakima, but liked to chase their horses. After a week they tried to dump him at an overcrowded shelter who referred them to me. He was dirty, matted and riding in the back of a pickup truck. I was on the way to a six day camping trip, in the first 24 hours he rode for six hours in his crate, quietly. On arrival at said camping destination he stayed with me on walks, came when called, sat on command, ran on 20 acres and at the end of the day laid on his bed in the cabin and was perfect. At three years old Derby is as well suited to the farm as he is to city life... Remarkable.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Derby Pending, a Snoqualmie Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Snoqualmie, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in Snoqualmie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Snoqualmie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Snoqualmie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Snoqualmie paves the way for another one to be saved.
