LUCAS's Story...
LUCAS is an Anatolian Shepherd pup rescued from a man at a gas station who was taking him to the dog pound. We estimate his date of birth to be June 2013. He is neutered, fully-vaccinated, crate-trained, house-trained, and leash-trained. He is sweet, gentle, affectionate and devoted to his human. He hasn't had much exposure to other dogs, but he wants to play with the three cats at his foster home. He loves the cats, but the feeling is not mutual. Although his foster mom doesn't have young children, given his gentle disposition, he would likely be good with kids once he knows them as family. He is after all a "flock guard." He currently weighs about 55 lb., so he's going to be a big boy with a thick, beautiful Anatolian coat. His foster mom has given him a good start, but her work hours are long, and Lucas needs a home where his people will have more time with him. This is a courtesy posting. This dog is not affiliated with P.S. I Love You! Animal Rescue but is fostered by another party. For more information, please contact Janel Miller at dogrefuge@gmail.com.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

LUCAS, a Glastonbury Anatolian Shepherd puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Anatolian Shepherd for sale in Glastonbury, or seeking a Anatolian Shepherd puppy from a breeder in Glastonbury.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Glastonbury already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Glastonbury breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Anatolian Shepherd breeders who help with Anatolian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Glastonbury paves the way for another one to be saved.
