Misty's Story...
Hi there! My name's Misty and I'm a 7 year old chihuahua mix. I was surrendered to the shelter because my owner recently died. I really miss her, but am also ready to have a new family to love. I'm very sweet and love to cuddle. I need a home where I can be the only dog. I'm up to date on shots, spayed, and have a microchip. Now what I'd really like is someone to take me home and love me! Do you think you have room in your house and heart for a little girl like me? The shelter is open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1-5, Tuesday and Thursday from 1-8, and Saturday from 10-2. Come visit me!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Misty, a Youngwood Chihuahua/Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua/Dachshund for sale in Youngwood, or seeking a Chihuahua/Dachshund dog from a breeder in Youngwood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Youngwood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Youngwood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua/Dachshund breeders who help with Chihuahua/Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Youngwood paves the way for another one to be saved.
