Facts about Myrtle

  • Breed: Other/Unknown Mix
  • Color: Black
  • Age: Young
  • Size: Standard
  • Sex: Female
  • Hair: Short
Myrtle arrived on 29 May 2013 along with 8 other rabbits from a property in Southern Ontario. She is one of a group of young rabbits born to a mother bunny who was released by her owners when only a few months old and left to fend for herself. Mommy and babies are very lucky to have survived.

Myrtle is a sweet little girl but is still very shy. In her first month of life, Myrtle and her family were alone, cold and scared. She missed out on having much human contact early on and is still a bit shy in new situations. She does not like to be picked up but with time and trust this may change. Myrtle just needs someone to love her and show she has no reason to fear anymore.

Myrtle has had her spay and is doing very well with her litter habits. Myrtle likes to play, loves her hay and can’t wait to have a forever home and forever family that will love her…. Forever!

We hoped to have updated pictures and info for our Myrtle very soon. Thank you for understanding. If you have any question about Myrtle or are interested in adopting her, please contact us at info@newmoonrabbitrescue.ca

About New Moon Rabbit Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

New Moon Rabbit Rescue was formed in September 2006 with one main goal: to provide unwanted, abandoned, neglected, or abused domestic rabbits with a second chance at human love and appropriate care.

We are a "no-kill" organization dedicated to providing care for rescued domestic rabbits. All rabbits remain in foster homes until such time as they are adopted to loving, caring homes.

Come Meet Our Pets...

All of New Moon's rabbits are in foster care at this time. If you are interested in meeting a particular rabbit you must fill out an adoption application. Upon approval a meeting with the foster home will be arranged.

Our Adoption Process...

All rabbits that come into the care of New Moon Rabbit Rescue are spayed or neutered, health checked and if necessary, fully rehabilitated before adoption. Potential adopters are thoroughly screened to ensure that the rabbits will be entering safe and happy environments.

Every potential adopter must fill out an application, either online or by printing and filling out the PDF document. It can be faxed to 613-482-2056. You will receive a phone call within a few days to discuss your application. Please review our adoption contract, which you will required to sign upon picking up your new rabbit. Please note that all adopters must be approved before visiting the rabbits.

Our adoption policies state that we do not adopt to children, however we do adopt to families with children in which children may aid parents in caring for the rabbit. New Moon rabbits are adopted out as house pets only and are not to be housed outdoors. There will be NO exceptions to either of these strict policies.

Our adoption fees are $85 for a single rabbit and $130 for an already bonded pair. All adoption fees are non-refundable, with 100% of the proceeds benefitting the rabbits of New Moon. We are wiling to adopt outside of our area, but you must be willing to pick up your new friend.
