Comet's Story...
Why not bring home one of Santa’s reindeer to help make your life joyful all year long?

Comet is a dog who loves to run (it’s as if he’s trying out for the reindeer team) and play. Through no fault of his own, he has lost his first family and is looking for a new family to love. He lived patiently with two young children, so he is used to an active household and is not easily startled. He has good manners, walks well on a leash, and knows a few basic commands. He enjoys short walks, and bounces along like it’s the best fun he ever had. He likes other dogs, especially large ones. His family said he loves to chase squirrels, but he has shown no prey drive in the foster home. He’s interested in chew toys and is beginning to play with soft ones, too. He likes to be loved, but he’s also happy to just be on his own with people nearby (though he doesn’t like being left alone). He’s a discriminating eater and doesn’t overeat, so being overweight should never be a problem for him. He’s been well loved and is in good health. He’s even had his teeth cleaned every year.

Although Comet is adapting to his quiet foster home, his ideal family would have a nice back yard for running, a child or two to love, and/or another dog to keep him company when he’s home alone. He’s an easy-going dog who has accumulated a good bit of life experience in his eight years, and he has many years left in which to enrich a family’s life. Apply today to meet this sweet, handsome boy.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Comet, a Spencerville Greyhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Greyhound for sale in Spencerville, or seeking a Greyhound dog from a breeder in Spencerville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Spencerville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Spencerville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Greyhound breeders who help with Greyhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Spencerville paves the way for another one to be saved.
