Hammy's Story...
If you are looking for a wonderful Boston terrier then look no further. Hambone or “Hammy” as his foster family calls him is just that dog. He was an owner surrender to a shelter in another state. One of the staff members at that shelter thought he was so adorable that they provided 8 hours of transportation just to bring him to Tennessee. When he first arrived he was a filthy and had horrible bad breath. After some good nutrition, and bath, and a dental cleanin he now has a shiny coat of fur and a sparkling smile! His jowls actually turn up on each end and it makes him look like he is smiling right at you! He walks well on a leash and is a great lap dog. He sleeps in his crate at night and will use his crate to sleep during the day if the crate door is open. He is completely house broken and is currently using a doggy door to go outside. He gets along with other dogs and will back down if put in an aggressive situation. Hambone seems to have some minor hearing loss as he does not startle at doorbells that ring or loud noises. This should not be confused with “selective hearing” in which he does hear you but chooses to ignore you. Hambone is currently being fostered in Franklin, Tennessee. He is approximately 8 years old, 17 pounds, neutered and up to date on vaccines. If you are interested in Hambone please email mcmullan.tracy1988@yahoo.com for more information.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hammy, a Jackson Boston Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boston Terrier for sale in Jackson, or seeking a Boston Terrier dog from a breeder in Jackson.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jackson already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jackson breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boston Terrier breeders who help with Boston Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jackson paves the way for another one to be saved.
