My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet sweet little Nutmeg, a spayed 8 year old Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever/Vizsla mix, who currently holds the title for "Best Dog Ever". What makes her the best? Everything!

Nutmeg is a gentle girl who is GREAT with all dogs (was even used at the shelter to test the temperaments of other dogs), cats, and good with dog-friendly kids!

She walks wonderfully on leash (heels), knows how to sit, lay down, and shake. She loves to be pet, and if you stop in the middle, she'll gently lay her paw on your knee to remind you. When at the vet, she is perfectly behaved, though she'll occasionally ask to hold your hand for reassurance. In addition, she is housetrained, is great on free roam when alone in the house, and is not a fence jumper!

Medically, you would never know Nutmeg is a senior. She is in perfect health (other than a little tartar on her teeth), with no arthritis, no cataracts, no deafness, and excellent blood work results. She is a little skinny though, due to her time spent on the streets as a stray, but is quickly gaining back weight on!

Her foster home comments that Nutmeg is an "effortless dog" who has obviously been well taken care of and worked with in the past.

She would love to have a home in time for the holidays! Email us at caylebskindred@gmail.com for an adoption application!
