My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID

My name is Toni I’m a Bull Dog mix who is about a year old who was picked up in the desert and when I had a hard time adjusting to shelter life Fuzzy Pawz Rescue took me in.

I'm a hopeless romantic who enjoys long walks on the trail, swimming for sticks, and riding in the car. I also love other dogs so my foster mom makes sure to take me to Camp Bow Wow to mingle outside of my pack. She tells me I am very well behaved in public and because of that I get to go anywhere they will have me!

It’s been a really rough couple of months and things haven’t always that easy for me (or my foster family); you see someone abused me pretty bad and I was very afraid of everyone that tried to get near me. I would bark, growl and nip at them; I was so very, very afraid I didn’t know how else to protect myself.

With the help of my foster family (my mom is a dog trainer) I have worked very hard to develop my new and improved lady like manners but I will totally need a home that is going to keep up with my training and socialization.

My fear of men was especially bad but my foster dad has helped me learn that they aren't all bad and now he is my very best friend! I do still get a little scared when some men (and the occasional woman) approach me, I can’t help it I bark and bark at them. But give me a bit of time and I calm right down and will snuggle up for kisses, I LOVE to lay on the couch and cuddle!

If you give me the time I need I will prove how sweet, silly, and loving I can be towards everyone! And did I forget that I know sit, down, wait, and sit pretty? I'm also a good leash walker, well potty trained, and I live with 4 cats!

I really want to live in a home with at least one other non dominant dog for me to play with. My favorite pals are a Pit Bull and a Chihuahua so I'm not picky about size! No children please, I am still learning to share my toys and I have no patience for kids.

My ideal home is one where the people understand that I need a few days to adjust to them and the new rules in the house. A home where if I bark the first few times I see someone new in our home that you will work with me and give me patience to adjust (sorry but people can be scary). I am really a dream dog if you give me a little time to realize you love me for who I am. A home that will take me with them to the store and other dog friendly places; maybe even to Camp Bow Wow! A home where I will be a part of the family, can nap with you, give you kisses and share my zest for life with.

My friends from Fuzzy Pawz wanted to let you know this…

If you can offer Toni a home with love, kindness and patience please go to our http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ and fill out the adoption application and her foster mom will get back with you very soon. Please note that you will be expected to work with Toni’s foster mom (and dog trainer) to help with the transition.

Toni’s adoption fee is $40 plus the cost of her vetting.

Toni has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.
