My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cody is a 9 year old neutered male Bichon mix. (Possibly Maltese as secondary breed) up to date on shots and very friendly. He is very sweet and obedient. He is house trained and a very good boy.

He had developed itchy, scabby skin recently and his former owner would not keep up with vet treatment. He was treated for this in September and it cleared up but then they refused to pay for any more treatment so they relinquished him to us.

Our vet examined him and found multiple ear infections and she believes the skin condition to be Scabies... A very CURABLE and PREVENTABLE condition. His former owners did not keep him on heartworm or flea and tick prevention and this neglect of care is what we believe caused his situation now. He is on multiple medications and ear drops to clear up both problems which after 4 days is working amazingly! Within a month or so, he should be fully recovered with no aftereffects. He is otherwise very healthy and will make some lucky family a great forever friend. He will need to be kept on monthly flea and tick prevention such as FRONTLINE TOPSPOT and monthly heartworm prevention such as HEARTGUARD (AS ALL DOGS SHOULD BE).

Cody is also Microchipped but the owner has lost that info, We will have our vet scan him to get that info next week.

Bichons have a long lifespan and if healthy can live 18-19 years... So Cody is just in the prime of his life now!
