Scamp's Story...
Hello World,

My name is Scamp and I am a little bichon mix less than a year old and with a great big personality – or, as my foster mom says, “I’m a big dog attitude" in a small package!!!

Mom says I LOVE playing with other dogs, love to run (and wrestle) and am a bit of a
rascal (which is why she named me Scamp.) She says I have big bright eyes that shine
and smile – and that let you know I’m a happy guy.

Mom says I'm a natural explorer in the great outdoors but am also quick to jump on the couch for a big time snuggle when I'm tired! (Mom says I love being held and would gladly stay in your lap for hours on end!) I also like sleeping in my crate with my blankie!

I enjoy being with my foster brother and sisters and enjoy the companionship of both
people and other dogs. I’m good with older children (younger ones want to carry me around
like a toy and I don’t like that very much.) Mom says I am also "working on being housebroken." I'm not sure what that means because I promise I have not broken anything in the house! She says I’m smart and want to please, that I already know where the doggy door is and how to go in and out so I’ll be done with this challenge in no time at all.

Most of all Mom wants you to know that I am about ten pounds of fun, who is happy, playful and has lots of energy. I’m currently learning how to walk properly on a leash (‘cause I’d really rather run since I’m still a youngster) and I’m learning commands, too. (I already know ‘the word No’ and am learning to listen very well!)

So if you are looking for a little love of a guy with lots of energy and tons of promise, please
complete the application at www.bichonfurkids.org as I am waiting to meet you.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Scamp, a La Costa Bichon Frise dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bichon Frise for sale in La Costa, or seeking a Bichon Frise dog from a breeder in La Costa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in La Costa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a La Costa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bichon Frise breeders who help with Bichon Frise rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in La Costa paves the way for another one to be saved.
