Max's Story...
Hi People,

My name is Max and I’m a one year old sweetheart of a bichon, I’m a cuddler and a lover, great with other dogs and with children. My foster mom says I’m very gentle, sweet and mellow. She says I can also be very playful -- and that there is no doubt that I am VERY smart! I am crate trained and housebroken. I already know how to figure things out – and like to get approval for my newfound skills – in other words, I want to please!

Dad says I am a good listener and a great companion! He says I also like to play “chase the ball” – and that I’m learning to bring it back, too. Dad says I figured out how to do that all by myself – and if he doesn’t have time to play with me, well I just go and play ball by myself!

Mom says I like to be wherever she is but I am not intrusive. If I can lie nearby and watch her, that makes me happy. She also says that I like to find ‘sun spots’ where I can lie down and let the sun warm me. Dad says that I am a great walker and am very agile. I love to go out for long walks and short walks. Dad thinks I could be trained in agility as I really seem to have a knack for it.

Mom is a little biased because she says I do everything well. She also says I need to be in a home with at least one other dog as that would make me happiest!.

So if you are looking for a happy, mellow little boy with long eyelashes and a big heart,
please fill out our application at as I am waiting to meet you.

Thanks a lot!
xoxox Max (you can call me Mellow Max, too!)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Max, a La Costa Bichon Frise dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bichon Frise for sale in La Costa, or seeking a Bichon Frise dog from a breeder in La Costa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in La Costa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a La Costa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bichon Frise breeders who help with Bichon Frise rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in La Costa paves the way for another one to be saved.
