EDDIE's Story...
Eddie and his brother, Mo, were rescued from a rural high kill shelter. They were so tiny they kept getting out of their kennel and had to be kept in a rabbit cage! They had to stay in the shelter for stray hold before coming to rescue and Mo got sick with Parvo. Little Eddie never got sick and proved what a tough little guy he is. Eddie is super outgoing and lively and a very affectionate little guy. Rat Terriers are great little dogs. They are related to Jack Russells but tend to be less high energy and more easygoing. Small in size, they still have that tough terrier personality that makes them a great family dog.
Eddie's fee for adoption is $300 which helps cover the costs of getting him medically ready for adoption. For more information on the adoption process or to request an application please contact Dawn at or Becca Martin at Eddie will be available soon to meet his pre-approved adopter at an upcoming adoption meet and greet in Hagerstown, MD. Eddie is sure to bring lots of joy and smiles to the family who chooses him!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

EDDIE, a LEXINGTON Rat Terrier/Chihuahua puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier/Chihuahua for sale in LEXINGTON, or seeking a Rat Terrier/Chihuahua puppy from a breeder in LEXINGTON.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in LEXINGTON already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a LEXINGTON breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier/Chihuahua breeders who help with Rat Terrier/Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in LEXINGTON paves the way for another one to be saved.
