My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Due to the failure of her people, this gal's story doesn't start well. Only known as "Mama" (bc she was bred 4 times in her 2.5 of life) this gal fulfilled her careless name by saving her family from a raging house fire. While the adult went outside to smoke, she left a burner on that started a grease fire. 'Mama' ran back and forth frantically to get the adult's attention, thus alerting her to the danger inside. The fire spread so quickly, that they barely saved their sleeping toddler by breaking an outside window. Her diligence and persistence in alerting her family saved their lives but not their home.

They all went to live with a relative who would not allow 'Mama'into their house. Tied up to a tree during a recent cold snap in Michigan, she caught the eye of a local dog lover. Unable to leave 'Mama' to the cold, she brought food and a crate to give her shelter and tried talking to the family about her care.

To make a sad story shorter, the family decided that they no longer wanted her after alll. Told the local dog lover that we refused to feed her and to come get 'Mama' if she wanted her. When they arrived to retrieve her, 'Mama' was so tied up that she could not even reach the food or shelter they left her. They gathered her up and never looked back. Then, they contacted NLOL.

A new name and a new life awaits this lady now, thanks to someone who cared enough to notice her. 'Mama' is now 'Myra' and in search of a home who will love her as much as she deserves. She is roughly 2.5/3 yrs old, housebroken, great with other dogs and kids. Will you help us give her a new leash on life?
