My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Barni is a unique, "first" for MTGSR. We have welcomed her into our program as a rescue from the DMT (Dog Meat Trade) Industry in Thailand. Most us of can't even fathom the thought of eating a dog but sadly, dog meat is considered a delicacy in some cultures. While we have more dogs in our own local community than we can keep up with that are in need of rescue, we will occasionally try to take DMT rescue dogs because there is a DTM rescue connection in the Nashville area. We wanted to take this opportunity to save little Barni's life and to also raise awareness about DMT and the barbaric, inhumane, torturous methods in which these dogs are killed to end up on someone's dinner table. We won't go into the graphic nature in this post, but you can visit one of the websites that will be listed at the end of this post for more information about the disturbing details of DMT.
Now for more details about precious Barni. She is absolutely adorable and incredibly sweet. She is a mixed breed and is like a miniature German Shepherd. She approximately 18 months old and weighs 40 pounds. She is a little shy with people at first but warms up quickly. She is cat-friendly and is great with children. She gets along with other dogs and will actually do best in a home with other dogs and has a low-moderate energy-level. She is crate-trained and fully housebroken. All dogs adopted from Middle Tennessee German Shepherd Rescue are spayed/neutered, current on all vaccinations and microchipped. For more information, please email us at adoption.mtgsr@gmail.com
