Red's Story...
SEE VIDEO ALSO ON THIS PAGE!

Red is a one-year-old, wonderful Golden Retriever/Basset Hound mix. We rescued him out of South L.A. Shelter and he is now living in a foster home with several other dogs. Red is playful, yet gentle, fun and alert. He is great with kids so he would be a wonderful family dog. He is short and weighs about 40 lbs. He is already potty-trained (however potty reinforcement is needed in any new environment) and is being crate-trained and is doing great, a very quick learner! He already knows basic commands such as sit and shake! Overall, Red is a very well mannered, easy going dog, who is ready for his forever home. Red is neutered, up to date with shots and micro-chipped. If you are interested in Red, please call 818-407-4145 or email adopt.ddr@gmail.com

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Red, a Los Angeles Golden Retriever/Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever/Basset Hound for sale in Los Angeles, or seeking a Golden Retriever/Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Los Angeles.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Los Angeles already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Los Angeles breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever/Basset Hound breeders who help with Golden Retriever/Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Los Angeles paves the way for another one to be saved.
