My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This sweet boy was very thankful to have a foster home for Thanksgiving, but now he's hoping for a very special present for the holidays, a Forever Home! Mr. Chubsy is as friendly and gentle as can be. He loves to do nothing more than snuggle with his people, especially if they let him on the couch with them! He'd be happy to sleep on the bed, too, but he is equally content with a soft doggie bed, just as long as he's near you.

His long tail is always wagging, and once Chubsy gets to know you, he'll even give you a shy little kiss. He's especially happy when you give him a belly rub or take him on car rides--you can tell by his smile!

Chubsy's previous owner loved him but couldn't take care of him. As a result, he's about twenty pounds overweight, but he's looking forward to being a slimmer boy in the new year. Taking off some weight will also help Chubsy discover new energy, so his new family has to help him meet his weight-loss goals. No more table scraps!

Chubsy might look gray, but his coat is actually roan, which means that he may be mixed with another breed. He's housetrained, healthy, neutered, and current on shots.

This charming guy gets along with kids, other dogs (especially females), and even cats. He's just a gentle soul looking for someone to keep him company. He doesn't want to spend the day alone, so his ideal home will be one either with people who are home fairly often or with another pet to keep him company.

If you're looking for an easy keeper and a true companion who will dote on you, consider meeting Chubsy. Perhaps finding his home with you will also mean getting a new name that better suits the new, sleek shape he's working toward!

Please note that an approved adoption application is the first step in a more thorough interview process that is designed to match each dog to exactly the right family, and that the final decision rests with the dog's case manager.

Please read the Adoption FAQ and get an Adoption Application approved before inquiring about Chubsy.
