You may meet and apply to adopt Fudge at our ADOPTION EVENT on SATURDAY, JANUARY 11th from 12 Noon - 3:00 at PETCO in IRVINE. adoptpetmatch@gmail.com

Fudge is a female black Labrador Retriever mix puppy only 5 months old. She has a jet black shiny short coat with a small splash of white on her chest. Fudge is already a good sized pup, weighing in at 25 pounds. Her adult weight should be 55-65 pounds. Fudge has the typical Lab personality, very social, friendly, great with kids, and eager to please. She also has a love of food and treats and will come right to attention when the goodies come out. Fudge will take treats very gently from your hand and is a sweet tempered girl. She adores being petted and loved, but will not force herself on you. She is content to hang out in a doggie bed or stretched out on a favorite rug, watching the family activity and enjoying your company. For a young puppy, Fudge is definitely on the mellower side. Fudge is excellent with other dogs and good with cats. She does not bark (at least not yet) and welcomes company into your home with a wag of her tail. Sometimes she will wander over for a pat, but she might also play contentedly by herself with a stuffy toy. Fudge is learning how to walk on leash and will need some practice with that. She is good with her potty training and sleeps in a doggie bed all night long. Fudge was brought in with her sister, Cocoa, (also posted online) to a very high-volume/high-kill shelter. Both pups were terrified in the shelter environment and needed to be rescued. Fudge is going to blossom into a beautiful, wonderful pet and companion. She is ready for her new forever family today!

Fudge’s adoption donation is $400 (*TAX DEDUCTABLE). She has been SPAYED, MICROCHIPPED, VACCINATED, DEWORMED, DEFLEAED and PROFESSIONALLY GROOMED. Also included is her collar with ID, harness, leash, folder with all of her records, a great PETCO coupon book, and a fun goodie bag with toys, etc.

Fudge is being fostered by Pet Match Rescue Foster Volunteers, Pam & Allen and is ready for her forever home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

FUDGE, a Newport Beach Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Newport Beach, or seeking a Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Newport Beach.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Newport Beach already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Newport Beach breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Newport Beach paves the way for another one to be saved.
