I am already neutered, up to date with shots, not good with kids, and good with dogs.
Charley is a sweet, four and one half year old male Shih Tzu mix, possibly mixed with poodle. Charley’s owners surrendered him to rescue because they had to move to an apartment that did not accept pets. Charley has an exotic and handsome look about him with his totally black face and dark eyes. He has four white paws and his coat is black, white and gray. He has the most adorable stance which makes him look like a husky football linebacker! He prances with purpose when he walks, and he does love long walks. Daily trips along the walking path are one of Charley’s favorite times of day. He walks well on a leash and does his daily constitutional during the morning walk. Charley is a creature of habit and he lets us know if we are behind schedule. He is doing very well on the potty training and keeping him on a schedule ensures his success.
Charley is a very mellow fellow. He loves to “chill” out after his morning walk and breakfast. He is content “hanging out” any place you are and is happy to just be with you. He is learning the basic commands of sit and stay and he is eager to please you. He is very praise motivated, and he loves to be praised for a job well done. Being given a treat for that job well done is a bonus to the hugs he looks forward to receiving.
Charley is great with other people and older children. He is friendly, yet polite, and enjoys meeting people, so no one stays a stranger to Charley. He is aloof to other dogs and would prefer being the only dog in the family. Charley adores being outside, especially running, so a home with a fenced yard where Charley can explore and run every day would be perfect.
Charley sleeps with his foster parents and once they are settled in for the night he does not move until morning. He is a quiet sleeper, a friendly and loving companion and a gentleman in every way around his foster family and everyone he meets.
Charley is a healthy boy who is neutered, micro chipped and up to date on all vaccinations. Charley’s adoption fee is $320.00 plus sales tax. His foster family would like to find a home for him within 30 miles of Minneapolis/St. Paul. His adoptive family is also encouraged to attend the Shih Tzu Rescue Reunion held the third Saturday in June each year.
