Here's what the humans have to say about me:
My name is ROBIN. Things had been going along pretty well, but then my Mom lost her job and then lost our house -- who knew how a foreclosure could change your life. I don't get it, but now I am homeless because my Mom lives with others in an apartment that doesn't allow dogs. I have been well loved, and I have always tried to be a good dog, but there just are not guarantees in this life. Can you rescue me? I have lots of love to give. I am 5 years old, and check out my pictures. I'm a pretty (so they tell me) red smooth, with a bit of dappling for style. I am well behaved and even know some commands. (Well, I know them, but don't necessarily DO them. I am a dachshund, after all!) I travel well, use the doggie door, and will keep your property clear of squirrels and rats. Please let me be part of your family. We could be together for the holidays. Love Robin
Robin is a non-barker, friendly dog. She will do well with a loving family -- likes older kids. Needs to recover from recent situation.
Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same sex in a home and children need to be 10 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer no smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc) Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember these are rescues, many were surrendered because of these issues.
All our dogs are fully vetted, including all shots, wormer & flea protection, nails trimmed, the works. They'll come with a basket of goodies, food, toys and a custom made harness. The adoption fee is $395, no exceptions as this covers the cost to rescue them, vet them and take care of them while in our rescue. It also helps towards the care of other doxies that come with huge vet or dental bills or need extensive behavioral training.
Can you give her a happy, carefree life that she deserves? If interested, please complete the adoption questionnaire at www.odr-inc.org and email it to: jrangan@comcast.net - the adoption committee will be in touch with you within 48 hours so please be patient as we are solely volunteer run.
