My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweet, gentle Hank. Softest mouth, softest paws. Handsome face. Soulful eyes. Great cuddler. Quick, he's stealing foster mom's heart!

Hank, a 7 year old, purebred boy, is healing nicely from an infected wound and hopefully will get a clean bill of health very soon. His recent blood panel was perfect; except like many Goldens, he is hypothyroid. He's started on an inexpensive medication now and is beginning to find his perfect weight. He does need to lose more and needs a home committed to helping him. He's a tall, red boy who rests his chin on the table - just looking, though. So far, he's been a finicky eater and doesn't like fruit or vegetables. He likes treats, but quickly rejected cheese-wrapped antibiotics. He is very smart.

He loves his foster mom's nine year-old granddaughter, does well with the two resident GRFR goldens, and is transfixed by foster granddog, a wonderful Great Pyr. They greet nose to nose and play and romp together, a first for her. No cats here.

Hank has perfect house manners, never marked, has had free roam since the first day, sleeps all night with all the pups in foster mom's room, wakes every morning with a wump-wump-wump tail and a kiss for foster mom. He comes quickly when called, sits politely and enjoys car rides. He can't quite jump into the back of foster mom's SUV, but rides easily in the back seat. He will need a little work on the leash but all he wants is to please. So far, he hasn't been interested in any toys or tennis balls. He doesn't bark but he has the cutest yodel-like voice and likes to talk. He isn't Velcro as long as he knows where his people are. And those paws!

Hank is a wonderful boy and will make a perfect addition to any family.
