Let me set one thing straight. Although I was named after the American folk hero who died from exhaustion after defeating a steam driving hammer, I am no hero and, like all cats, I would never work myself to death. But I have my own strengths. Among them are sociability, a lively and affectionate disposition, and a wonderful gentleness. Talk sweetly to me and I am likely to offer a belly to caress or a chin to scratch. I was only 1 to 2 years old when I found myself in deadly peril at a kill shelter. Thank goodness CARE got me out of there and into a comfortable, safe foster home. I think that I would be agreeable to living with a nice kitty companion, but my past experiences, which I would rather not talk about, have left me with a fear and dislike of dogs.
