| Houston is a playful young dog, about 18 months of age. He walks well on leash, taking cues easily from his handler. Houston is a quick learner and bonds with people. He has been around children some and behaved well. It is possible someone in his past may have been mean to him because if someone approaches too quickly he tucks tail and hides. When introduced to cats at the shelter Houston ignored/avoided them. This may change as he develops confidence. He has gotten along with other dogs in rescue. Houston was rescued from the Chilton County Humane Society January 12th - the day he was slated to be euthanized. Someone had left him in the overnight drop off kennel the week prior. We have no history on him before his coming into rescue. He was 52 pounds, starved and emaciated. He was also light heartworm positive but has successfully completed treatment. Named in Memory of ...
