| Hi! I’m Mr. Mittens, a beautiful black & white tuxedo male, born in October 2006. I have a care-bear heart on my tummy and I’ll gladly let you re-arrange it because I love tummy rubs. If you take me home with you I promise to toss myself fearlessly at your feet; rolling around for petting. I also promise to defend you from any brooms that may reside inside your house, just ask my foster mommy she’ll show you a video clip.
I will not leave you behind fending for yourself watching TV, reading a book or listening to music. I will selflessly ignore my busy schedule (sleep, play, eat & sleep) and snuggle up right next to you with one, two, three or all four paws on your lap, purring up a storm. My loyalty is yours and your friends are mine. I’ll make sure to greet them right away and then they can pet me before I take off chasing my toys through the house. A tiny furry toy mouse will do just fine, a few stairs & a feathery wand guarantee hours of exercise. As a man of honor it is understood that I only scratch my turboscratcher, with one exception: when you come home. I just have to run up and greet you while trying to fluff whatever spot I’m on: wood, tile or even solid rock. One pet on the back will do though and I’m off following you around. It’s the pure joy that you came back to me!
I don’t like talking about my past, it makes me sad, but I guess you ought to know. A long time ago when I was a baby I was rescued from a shelter in southern Virginia, where I was to be euthanized. Then I was adopted & returned, because the resident dog considered me lunch. I was adopted out a second time and then returned after 1.5 years, because I didn’t hit it off with the other cat. It’s true I don’t really care too much about other pets, but that’s just because I already have 100% of love to give. There’s no need for a #2.
Since that second return I’m back in 4Paws foster care. I’ve been to many adoption fairs, always making sure I dress in my best tuxedo for a good first impression. But people pass me by and say that I look grumpy or scared when neither could be further from the truth. I am very laid back at the adoption fairs, I don’t freak out during car rides and I’m friendly with all humans, but I can’t change my look, my fur color or turn back into a kitten. Until someone really sees me for who I am I just have to wait. Wait until that one person comes by that really wants ME, a tiny knight in shining armor with a beautiful personality.
Mr. Mittens is neutered, current on vaccines and has tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV. Mr. Mittens has a sensitive stomach and only eats Royal Canin special #33, which you can buy at the pet store.
