Arrival story: Cupcake's previous owner was unable to take care of this gorgeous girl due to medical problems. She has been in foster care waiting patiently for a new home for over a year.
Approximate age / weight: 2 years old and approx. 50lbs.
Personality: Cupcake is a super sweet gal. She loves long walks, belly and ear scratches, and most of all, snuggling. Her foster mom calls Cupcake her "helper" - Cupcake supervises most tasks throughout the household! Cupcake has grown to be very protective (not to be confused with possessive) of her foster mom. She lacked social experiences early in life, but her foster family is trying to make up for it. During a recent car ride, Cupcake barked at an ATM because of the noise it was making while her foster mom was touching it. Those little quirks make Cupcake all the more lovable.
Forever home: A potential adopter would be a person that is enthusiastic about bonding with Cupcake. Cuppie is accustomed to a fenced yard and having someone around most of the time, but she also enjoys a few hours of crate time during the day to wind down. She loves kids and is very gentle with them. One of her favorite activities is to snuggle up to the kids while they are playing video games. Cupcake gets along great with her cat buddy in her foster home. Cupcake is fully house trained and is not prone to potty accidents in the house or in her crate

Pre-Adoption Application: To be considered for a dog, it is best to submit a pre-adoption application. The Pre-Adoption Application can be downloaded from our website - http://www.waggintailsdogrescue.org/adoptionprocess.html. Just complete the application and email it back to wtdr2008@yahoo.com.
Waggin' Tails Adoption Information: Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue has a standard adoption fee of $175 for adult dogs. Different adoption fees apply for older dogs, small breeds and puppies - $100 for senior dogs (9 years +), $275 for small breed dogs and $200 for puppies plus a $50 deposit which is returned upon proof of spay/neuter at six months of age.
Our adoption process includes an application, vet reference checks, and a home visit. We do not have a facility; all of our dogs are fostered in private homes. To view our dogs, please check www.waggintailsdogrescue.org for the dates of our next adoption events. To meet a dog in person, please see our event calendar for the latest information. Arrangements can be made to meet our rescue dogs outside of Saturday adoption events after an approved application is submitted (the application does not imply an obligation by the applicant or by the rescue group).
Please be kind to our volunteers who have made rescue a second job that they do in their spare time after coming home from full-time jobs. E-mail inquiries will be answered much more quickly than phone inquiries; our phone number is a voice mailbox only.
