| July 2009: A Canine Rescue Volunteer is now fostering Maddie. Following is an update: Maddie's foster mother writes: Maddie is the perfect house-guest. She is quiet and well- behaved indoors, does not suffer from separation anxiety, is house-trained, she is content to stay on the ground floor (in fact she does not 'do' stairs) she does not need to be crated - she enjoys lying on the sofa and seems happy to sleep there all night or whenever we are out of the house. Maddie does need to be the only pet in the house - she dislikes other dogs and cats. Maddie would do well in a home with a fenced yard because she loves to run and chase a ball. She is learning to trust kind human beings after a hard early life. She responds well to people coming into the house and is enjoying being petted and receiving loving attention. Maddie came to the Canine Rescue kennel in July 2008 after being found as a stray. In the ensuing months she has received tender loving care which has built up her confidence and trust in human beings. She now loves to play fetch, walks very well on leash, and enjoys visits to a horse on a neighboring farm. If you are looking for a loyal companion, even a soulmate, Maddie is the dog for you. She loves to be petted and would enjoy being in a one-dog household as she prefers human company to that of other dogs and cats. Maddie is a very special girl and she is greatly loved by our volunteer dog-walkers." |
