Peggy's Info...
| Breed: | Boxer/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) Mix | Color: | Tan/Yellow/Fawn - With White | Age: | Adult |
| Size: | Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg) | Sex: | Female |
I am already spayed, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.
Peggy is a very pretty, sweet, fun, and energetic 2-year-old, 50 pound Boxer/Terrier mix who seeks a loving home. Peggy came to us from a shelter in Chatsworth, Georgia as a recent mom. She is a lively, playful, and enthusiastic girl who loves (and needs!) to run around outside and play with her human and dog buddies. She adores and is very loving and affectionate with people. (However, she could easily knock a small child over in her enthusiasm so is recommended for an a dog-experienced family with older children or an all-adult household.) She also loves playing and does very well with most other dogs and will be happiest in a home where she can run off-leash each day with a dog buddy in a securely fenced yard.
Peggy is very healthy, spayed, heartworm-tested negative, microchipped, dewormed, vaccinated for rabies, distemper, parvo, and bordetella, and ready for adoption. Her adoption fee of $300 helps support the rescues of Dogs Deserve Life. To meet and possibly adopt Peggy, please call 847 842 9300 and/or email sesdale@sbcglobal.net to request an application.

WE ARE SEEKING ADDITIONAL FOSTER HOMES FOR OUR RESCUE DOGS! IF YOU ARE ABLE TO CONSIDER OPENING YOUR HOME UP TO TEMPORARILY HOUSE A RESCUE DOG, PLEASE CALL 224 678 5740 TO LEARN MORE. IT WILL HELP SAVE LIVES WHILE ENHANCING YOURS!
Dogs Deserve Life is a no-kill, foster home-based dog rescue organization that provides nurturing settings for homeless dogs while we seek the ideal permanent home for each dog. Most of the dogs we rescue come from high-kill shelters and may have never experienced a loving home environment. Our rescue dogs receive the very best care, medical care, love, socialization, and exercise prior to be paired with their forever family. Dogs Deserve Life dogs are fully vetted prior to adoption, including spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test (if 6 months or older), vaccinations for Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, and Bordetella, and deworming, and are placed on flea/tick and heartworm prevention medicine. Dogs Deserve Life rescue dogs are available for view via www.petfinder.com and www.adoptapet.com. We interview potential adopters extensively, check personal and vet references, do home checks for all adoptions, personally deliver the dogs to their new homes, and keep in touch with our adopters.
The name of our organization expresses our philosophy about animals -- They deserve the very best care and respect human beings are capable of providing. Our web site is currently under construction and will be up in the near future so please check back!
Most prospective adopters contact Dogs Deserve Life after seeing one or more of our rescue dogs online at www.petfinder.com or www.adoptapet.com. We ask that prospective adopters complete our adoption application, available by emailing dogsdeservelife@sbcglobal.net or by calling 224 678 5740. Upon receipt of your application, we will call you to discuss your application and dog(s) you are interested in meeting. If it seems like a good match, we will bring the dog(s) to your home to meet you and your family. If, upon meeting at your home, it indeed seems like an ideal match, the adoption process can be completed and you may keep your new dog(s)! Dogs Deserve Life requires all adopters sign an adoption contract which states, among other requirements, that if the adoption does not work out for any reason, the adopter will return the dog to Dogs Deserve Life and that under no circumstances can an adopter of a Dogs Deserve Life dog adopt their dog out to anyone else.
Our adoption fees vary. Adoption fees for each dog are generally included in their online bio. Otherwise, please inquire by calling 847 842 9300 or emailing sesdale@sbcglobal.net and referencing the particular dog(s) in which you are interested.
Dogs Deserve Life does home checks for our adoptions so we primarily adopt within a 3-hour driving range from Chicago. Longer-distance adoptions can be arranged and require the adopter to put together an online photo journal of their home, yard, and family. Please call or email us to further inquire about this if it applies to you.
