Jack's Story...
Hi! I'm Jack - so called because I may be half basset, but my foster mom is convince I have some Jack Russell terrier in me! I am one happy, bouncy dog! If someone had a frisbee, she is convinced I could become a champion! Apparently, she doesn't have one because my four-legged foster brothers and sisters just kind of sit around here not doing much. I don't get it, there is so much to do! Not bad stuff though. I know the difference between good and bad. I just want to play!

My family gave me up because I wasn't too keen on the neighbor toddler hugging me while I was eating. I wish they had just told her to wait a second. I really get along with everybody. Kids, adults, other dogs (even when I'm eating), cats. Well, I do bug the cats a little but that is only because they will run when I chase them. The old ones are no fun and I don't bother them at all. Those kitties though.... they're fun. And I think I do want to eat the bunny.

I would love a permanent family where I can get a lot of exercise and attention. I really love my humans. I could have other dog friends or not. My foster mom is convinced I would do better with older cats because she doesn't think the kitties enjoy our games as much as i do. Mostly I would love someone to go on walks with, car rides with, hikes with, and to teach me how to play this frisbee thing. Could you be that person?

About Our Rescue Group...
As a charitable animal welfare organization, Arizona Basset Hound Rescue, Inc. provides veterinary care, food, support, and shelter to basset hounds needing assistance in Arizona. We treat these animals as our own, with the utmost care and respect and make decisions based on compassion for the quality of life these bassets will enjoy while in our care. We provide necessary support throughout the lifetime of the dogs and place the dogs in foster and permanent homes using the dogs' personalities, behaviors, and special needs as a guide. We work in cooperation with local and state shelters to reduce euthanasia of basset hounds and mixed breeds.
