Please meet Milly. Meet Milly our sweet 6 year old Boston Terrier.
Milly spent 6 years of her life in a rabbit hutch,(the worst puppy mill) no human contact except when the miller came to take her babies or to mate her again. Because of that she is a bit shy at first, and it will take time to warm up, but once she does, you will have a friend for life. We found that good treats work wonders.
Milly does not like to be in a cage/crate for long periods of time. It reminds her of her past, and will scare her. Because of this, we gave Milly a special room just for her, and she is so happy to not be confined.
Living in a mill for most of her life, Milly is not housebroken, but she does understand that outside is potty time. I think she is just so happy to be in a warm house she never wants to go back outside again. :-) We just give her lots of love and praise every day no matter what she does.
Milly still does have some trust issues, and when she is scared, she will have some 'accidents.' We are working with a behaviorist to see if we can get her over her fears. Milly will need continued work so she can see that life is not scary. We have found that Milly does like a good doggie treat, and she will lick our hand and jump up for one. When she takes the treat, she will hide it in her bed and wait till no one is around to eat it.
Milly is going to need a quiet home where she will be loved, cherished but most importantly a very patient home while she comes around. We know that in time, Milly is going to be a happy, loving Boston Terrier.
Milly is fully vaccinated, spayed, and had a full blood panel drawn (which came back perfect). She is being fostered in Lakewood, Ohio and her adoption fee is $150.00.
