Wyatt's story...
Personality

At first, I tend to be fearful of new people. Once I build a relationship with you, I come out of my shell and show you affection and playfulness. If you dedicate
the time I need to be comfortable with you, I will let you see the sweet boy that I am!

What are the dog's favorite toys or things to do?

I enjoy a lot of simple things like walks, playing with toys and other dogs, and being brushed, but my favorite thing is just hanging out and relaxing with my
special people. I love to lay outside with them, taking in the surroundings!

My forever home:

The best home for me would be one with 1 or 2 calm, quiet adults, in a low stress household. I really need people who have the patience to help me cope
with my insecurities and who understand that it will take awhile for me to become comfortable in my new home. I am a sweet, gentle giant, but I need patience, love
and time before I can learn to trust you.

Socialization

Does the dog like cats? Live with cats?

I don't know if I've ever met a cat! I'm not sure how I'd do with them, but I'm pretty low key with other dogs... I'd be willing to meet your kitties to make sure we'd be
a good match for each other!

Does the dog like other dogs?
I do very well with other dogs! I am patient and relaxed around them.

Does the dog like kids?

I don't know any kids, but strangers are very scary to me. I would not do well with the unpredictability of children. They move really fast!
Should the dog be placed with other pets and/or kids?
I could probably live with other animals, as long as the home is quiet and relaxed. I should not live with kids.
Training and Behavior

Housebroken?
Well, I don't have a foster home, so I'm not too sure of the rules in a household. I would need some help to learn the appropriate bathroom areas.

Crate trained?
No, and I wouldn't do well with such confinement. In order to warm up to my new environment, I would need to be able to stretch and explore.

Has the dog had any training?
I know a few basic commands, like sit and flat, but I need formal training to really blossom.

Does the dog escape the yard? Dig? Bark excessively? Anything else?
Again, I'm not used to the rules of a household, so it will take me time to adjust to a new situation. I do know that I can be vocal when someone invades my safe space.

Does the dog ride well in the car?
Yes, I LOVE the car! I ride very well in the back seat!

Does the dog resource guard?
Currently I don't have much of my own, so when I find something I consider valuable, I will guard it from other dogs.

Fearful of anything?
I was not properly socialized as a baby, so life is very scary for me. I am very cautious of all new things, especially people. I need someone to commit to helping me gain confidence and learn that the world isn't scary. Will you be that person?
Health

I do tend to get ear infections, and I will require ear cleaning and sometimes ear drops.
Special Contract

My contract includes an Individualized Program to be started within 1 month of adoption.
